Course DESCRIPTION:
This course covers the following topics. Navigating the Internet. Electronic publishing on the World Wide Web. Internet marketing. Establishing cooperative working relationships with participants in other organizations. Opportunities and leading edge practice in knowledge creations and distribution via networks. Problems surrounding electronic commerce including security, privacy, new business processes, and cross border commerce.
Course INTENDED Learning outcomes
- Describe e-commerce and its categories, framework, business models, benefits and limitations.
- Understand e-marketplaces and its types, e-catalogs, auctions, bartering, and wireless e-commerce.
- Describe e-retailing (e-tailing) and its characteristics, business models, online employment, online real estate services, online stock-trading, and cyber banking.
- Describe B2B field and its models, characteristics, forward and reverse auction, and procurement.
- Understand the concepts of some innovation EC systems like e-government and e learning.
- Understand the concept of M-commerce and its model, characteristics, types, applications and limitations.
- Describe the common security practices, elements, mistakes, and types.
- Demonstrate understanding on how to establish an EC website by defining which elements assist in developing an interactive user-friendly system.
