course description
In today’s world, the public awareness of the importance of doing business ethically has been increased. This is why, this course generates greater awareness amongst students of business ethics so they can help organizations to strengthen their ethic culture and encourage standards of business behaviour based on ethical values.
intended learning outcomes
Upon completion of this course, students will be able to:
- Reproduce knowledge (or facts or theories) about each topic area from the readings instructor lecture notes, whilst sharing their knowledge through e-discussions with classmates and the instructor
- Demonstrate comprehension [or seeing relationships, concepts, principles, and abstractions beyond simply remembering material (reading, translating, interpreting and estimating future trends)] through essay answers, e-discussions with classmates and instructor, and the final exam.
- Understand the application (or the ability to use learned material in new and concrete situations, including the application of rules, methods, concepts, principles, laws and theories) to specific issues and challenges in business ethics.
- Employ effective communication skills (both written and oral) in presentation of a 2000 word written report directly concerned with business ethics in the workplace environment.
- Compare and contrast the discrete differences between effective (moral) and ineffective (immoral) ethical decision-making actions carried out by leaders.
